U.S. Army Family Child Care Homes
Using Army FCC Online

The Army FCC Online website is designed to give two kinds of information.

Public Section Information
First for anyone who is interested, but in particular parents of children eligible to use Army Family Child Care (FCC) Homes, it gives an idea of the quality of Army FCC programs offered around the world.

Just choose the Garrison where you are located or where you want to know more about the Family Child Care Program and choose select.

Private Section Referral to FCC Homes

The second kind of information Army FCC Online delivers can be accessed through a Garrison Child, Youth & School Services (CYS) Central Enrollment Registry (CER) Office or at your home or office computer.  This information is not available to the general public.

When using Army FCC Online for referral, you should be prepared to answer a couple of simple questions. This information helps Army FCC Online find an FCC Provider who meets your needs and offers the care you would like for your child or children.

  • Age(s) of your child or children
  • Days (weekdays, weekends) and Time (daytime, evening, or for extended periods of time) you need care
  • Finally you will need to think a little about where you would like the FCC Provider to be located - Close to your work place? Close to your home? Near your child's school?
After you search for an FCC Provider that meets your needs, take a minute to review the pictures and words the Provider has decided best describe what her FCC Home is all about. If you find a Provider or better yet, several Provider's that interest you. Write down the names and ask the CER Staff to help you set up an FCC Home visit. Your decision to use Family Child Care needs to be based on an interview or visit to the Provider's home to make sure they can truly meet your needs.

The CER Staff is there to help you find the right kind of FCC Home for you and your child. Don't hesitate to ask them for help using Army FCC Online.

Important Information to Know Before You Begin

Army Waiting List and Registration Policies

Army FCC Online gives you a "head start" in selecting the best placement for your child but does not guarantee you a space in a specific home.

At some Garrisons, there is a waiting list for a particular age group such as infants or for a program type such as Child Development Center or Family Child Care. To ensure a fair process for all families, you must request child care through the Garrison CER Office. The Garrison CER Office follows DoD, Army, and Garrison policies for managing a waiting list. When your child's name comes to the top of the waiting list, a CER Staff person will contact you to offer the vacancy and provide information on the process of selecting a program type or individual provider.

Before using any CYS program, families must complete a registration process. Completion of the registration process is not necessary to place your child's name on the waiting list. Please contact the CER Office at your Garrison as soon as possible to determine whether a waiting list exists and ensure your child's name is on the waiting list.

Families undergoing a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) to the area, including families expecting a new baby, may place their child or children on a "Projected Demand Waiting List" prior to arrival. They may do so through the losing Garrison's CER Office or by contacting the gaining Garrison CER Office.
